Can be required in situations of head injury, stroke, encephalitis, multiple sclerosis, as well as other acquired or developmental conditions. Can also be required when prescribed medications that may produce cognitive deficits.

Baseline and follow-up neuropsychological evaluations can be required annually for 1st & 2nd class pilots and every other year for 3rd class pilots.
